[skill]Word of healing[/skill][skill]dwayna's kiss[/skill][skill]reversal of fortune[/skill][skill]guardian[/skill][skill]Protective spirit[/skill][skill]dismiss condition[/skill][skill]cure hex[/skill][skill]renew life[/skill]

12+1+1 Healing prayers, 11+1 Protection Prayers, 8+1 Divine favor

This is a standard WoH hybrid. There are plenty of changes you can make:

[skill]Aegis[/skill] for guardian
[skill]holy veil[/skill] for cure hex
[skill]mending touch[/skill] for dismiss condition
[skill]shielding hands[/skill] or [skill]shield of absorption[/skill] for damage prevention
[skill]spirit bond[/skill] for protective spirit
[skill]signet of rejuvenation[/skill] for more heal/energy management
[skill]power drain[/skill] for energy management (requires you to split ur att differently)
[skill]rebirth[/skill][skill]restore life[/skill][skill]resurrection chant[/skill] for different rez. Some better than others in certain situations.

He's after a Hero Monk bar, so RoF, Spirit Bond, Protective Spirit, Mending Touch are all bad choices. They're terribad at energy management and will spam till they drop, and Heroes can't pre-protect. They also don't know to use Power Drain as energy management and will waste the cast.

The other bars are pretty close to the mark, i'd try this instead -

Word of Healing [e]
Dwayna's Kiss
Signet of Rejuvenation
Dismiss Condition
Remove Hex
Guardian / Shield of Absorption
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Aegis

Take a rez on a character who can afford to be dysfunctional for 3-6 seconds - a Hero Monk's focus should always be on making the red bars go up. They're the last ones who should stop casting mid-battle with a party member down.

Hero Monks are bad M'kay...take offensive Heroes instead because the Henchies will do the job just fine.

[skill]Shield Of Regeneration[/skill][skill]Shield Of Absorption[/skill][skill]Shielding Hands[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Blessed Aura[/skill][skill]Divine Spirit[/skill][skill]Glyph Of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Deny Hexes[/skill] or [skill]Mend Ailment[/skill] <which u disable and use manually so your hero doesnt waste too much energy on it.

Or u can use [skill]Mending Touch[/skill] in the last slot which is a treat for Monk's energy and provides HUGE Heal+Double Condi removal, Hero Monks on Avoid Combat kite well.

If you intend to use Power Drain your monk should not be set to "Avoid Combat". In "Avoid Combat" the monk would not interrupt.

If dont set your monk hero to "avoid combat" then he would wand the enemy which means he is less likely to run away under melee pressure.

Can anyone say 'tanked energy'.

I tried this exact build in HM (Deny Hexes version as it's lighter on energy expenditure) in a defensive build to take as much load off the Monk as possible (God Mode SY D-Slasher, Blindbot, N/Rt Healer / Channeler, 2 Monk Henchies, Motivation Hench, Ranger Hench) and this build still fails on energy within 10 or 15 seconds.

I reconfigured the team to replace the N/Rt with a MM and swapped out a Monk Henchy for Eve (Blood Ritual) for a more balanced defensive setup. The build still tanks but does last a little longer. So i dropped PS, swapped in Aegis and the build runs more smoothly. The Hero ran 16 Prot, 13 Divine, Kephket's Refuge and Radiants to give it the greatest chance of success.

A Hero Monk can't run such an energy heavy bar and be useful in PvE, the only place this has a remote chance of working is Hero Battles. Drop PS and you have a chance of running it in PvE. To be honest i don't mind it because a Hero can run it, but it was backed up by a Blindbot, relies on Blood Ritual to be effective under pressure and uses a weak elite, so it's fail for me.

At best a Hero can manage Aegis + GoLE plus a micro'd PS. Give it a bar full of 5 energy skills and it'll still find a way to tank if you take condition removal on the bar. Keep it simple, go with a WoH Hybrid. I usually take two Hex removals and drop Dismiss Condition - it alone can run a Hero Monk dry.

Hero monk are better at making red bars go up than protting. I'd go with the bar Antithesis posted.

First of all I hate RC in PvE, Monk condi removals are completely inferior to those of paras and rits in PvE.

And yes, I kno my hardprot is a very energy heavy build, but it works great when in the areas with great damage pressure or just high damage areas, besides u usually kill everything before this get to no energy.

hybrids are kinda good but they are for everyday use, the use like a cookie cutter Monk, but I run Monk Heroes rarely enough for that.

So if u need uber damage relief on your party this monk bar rocks, I asometimes use a WoH healer monk or even better N/Rt with blood ritual alongside that monk bar, and it works wonders and has never let me down.

I also have recentlyconfirmed that Blessed aura effects Aegis so i dont run the energy-heavy hex removal on this monk anymore substituting it for Aegis.

I always put Patient Spirit on my monks after the last buff. Their elite is usually always WoH.

I never set my monks to full prot - the only 2 spells I'd want are Prot Spirit or Guardian, but PS can be put on another caster and I use other stuff for 50%blocks.

If I really wanted a full prot, I'd use an N/Mo so they could spam stuff a monk couldn't. (SB/SoR/PS/etc).

A few that I like.

12+1+1 protection, 8+1 divine, 8+1 healing, 7 inspiration
Reversal of Fortune, Gift of Health, Restore Condition, Spirit Bond/Protective Spirit, Shield of Absorption, Aegis, Power Drain, Leech Signet

Two strong heal others in GoH and RC. Interrupts double as energy increaser (not really management since they are used fairly early).

12+1+1 protection, 12+1 divine
Reversal of Fortune, Spirit Bond, Shield of Deflection, Shield of Absorption, Aegis, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Blessed Aura, Rebirth/Shielding Hands/Dismiss Condition

Blessed Aura increased enchantment durations, so I don't bring stuff like Gift of Health or Dismiss Condition. Does a good job reducing damage to let the other monk focus on healing.

12+1+1 healing, 9+1 protection, 9+1 divine
Reversal of Fortune, Dwayna's Kiss, Light of Deliverance, Spirit Bond/Protective Spirit, Dismiss Condition, Cure Hex, Shield of Absorption, Aegis

When I am the monk, I bring the same skills (except with Pain Inverter and Technobabble instead of condition and hex removal). Hero does well enough with it.

Between less likely to run away under melee pressure or energy screwed, I'd take my chances. You can always try disabling some skills but the notion of energy conservation is beyond the intelligence of heros.

Power Drain is not the ONLY energy management skill a monk can use. I prefer GOLE for my monk heroes.

This is the build that has served me well in the past:

[card]Word Of Healing[/card][card]Signet Of Rejuvenation[/card][card]Protective Spirit[/card][card]Reversal Of Fortune[/card][card]Shield Of Absorption[/card][card]Dismiss Condition[/card][card]Guardian[/card][card]Resurrection Chant[/card]

Split evenly between prot and heal (maybe a little more in heal) and stick about 9 in divine favour (i forget the actual attribute spread). Swap out RoF for Cure Hex if you'd like, i do it for hex-heavy areas.
